Facing some doubters on the right of the Republican Party, Donald Trump used an appearance before the Values Voters Summit on Friday to pledge his support for religious interests, urging conservatives to turn out to vote in November and help defeat Hillary Clinton.

“You didn’t vote four years ago,” Trump said to the audience gathered in Washington, D.C. “This is your last chance.”

Trump invoked the Bible as he pressed the group for support on Friday as well, saying it’s time for Americans to come together – behind his candidacy.

“It will be our faith in God, in His teachings, in each other, that will lead us back to unity,” Trump said.

Trump also pressed the case to change a law from the 1950’s that was engineered by then Senator Lyndon Johnson (D-TX), which says if churches choose to endorse political candidates, they will lose their tax exempt status.

Trump touched on other issues of interest to more conservative voters, like school choice, repealing the Obama health law, and more.

“You choose Donald Trump, I’m going to fix the problem,” as Trump again made an appeal to blacks, Hispanics and other minorities to join his cause.

One item that Trump did not address was abortion, an issue that is not usually left out of speeches by Republicans running for President when courting more conservative voters.
